Satiate

This summer, I have been craving LACE. My hands have been itching for something soft, light, and colorful. With graphic shapes and delicate openwork, this shawl was designed to satiate my craving for a new, lacy shawl. Although the Satiate shawl has lots of visual drama, there are no complicated stitches hiding in this pattern. This semicircular / half pi shawl is knit seamlessly from the top down and filled to the brim with lots of color potential.

SIZES
one size

YARN
FINGERING weight yarn
Night Owl Fibers ROYAL OWL (30% Superwash Merino, 40% Silk, 30% Yak, 464 yards / 4oz 425m / 100 grams)

Sample shown in ‘Spooky Mist’ (MC, grey), ‘Life of the Party’ (CC1, fuchsia), & ‘Kindred Spirit’ (CC2, blue)

I recommend the following yardages:
MC: 230 yards [210m] (grey)
CC1: 230 yards [210m] (fuchsia)
CC2: 460 yards [420m] (blue)

The yardages in the info box at the top of this page are based on my sample. These totals also include a 10% security. Yarn usage can vary widely when knitting lace. This is due to differences in yarn weight, yarn content, yarn ply, lace knitting styles, etc. During testing, yardages fell into the following ranges:

MC: 200-250 yards [180-230m]
CC1: 200-280 yards [180-255m]
CC2: 440-500 yards [400-460m]

If you tend to require more yarn when knitting in lace, plan for additional yardage.
